About Finansinspektionen — Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority
Finansinspektionen (FI) is Sweden's financial supervisory authority, headquartered at Brunnsgatan 3 in central Stockholm near Hötorget. FI supervises and regulates all financial markets participants in Sweden including banks, insurance companies, securities firms, and fund managers. With approximately 500 employees including a substantial legal team, FI enforces lagen om bank- och finansieringsrörelse (the Banking and Financing Business Act), lagen om värdepappersmarknaden (the Securities Markets Act), and EU financial regulations including MiFID II, AIFMD, and Solvency II. FI also manages Sweden's AML/CFT supervisory framework.
