FSMA – Financial Services and Markets Authority

The Financial Services and Markets Authority (Autorité des services et marchés financiers/Autoriteit voor Financiële Diensten en Markten) is Belgium's conduct-of-business supervisor, headquartered on the Rue du Congrès in Brussels. The FSMA supervises financial markets, listed companies, financial intermediaries, and supplementary pensions. Legal professionals at the FSMA enforce the Belgian Prospectus Law, supervise market abuse and insider trading under the MAR framework, review public takeover bids, and ensure MiFID II compliance across Belgian financial markets. The authority plays a critical role in investor protection and market integrity.
