INP - Instituto Nacional de Petroleo

Mozambique's National Petroleum Institute, the regulatory authority responsible for administration and promotion of all petroleum operations in the country. Established by Decree 25/2004, INP is headquartered on Rua dos Desportistas in Maputo. The institute oversees exploration and production licensing, ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, and manages concession agreements for the massive Rovuma Basin LNG projects. INP's legal division handles petroleum contracts, regulatory frameworks, and international arbitration related to Mozambique's world-class gas reserves.
