Konkurrensverket — Swedish Competition Authority

Konkurrensverket (the Swedish Competition Authority) is Sweden's government agency responsible for enforcing competition law and public procurement rules, headquartered at Östergatan 12 in central Stockholm. With approximately 200 employees including a significant team of jurister (legal professionals), Konkurrensverket enforces konkurrenslagen (the Swedish Competition Act, SFS 2008:579), reviews mergers and acquisitions, investigates cartels and abuses of dominant position, and supervises compliance with lagen om offentlig upphandling (the Public Procurement Act, LOU). The authority works closely with the European Commission and ECN on cross-border competition matters.
