Malta Financial Services Authority

The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) is Malta's single financial regulator, headquartered at Triq l-Imdina, Zone 1, Central Business District in Birkirkara. The MFSA supervises banking, insurance, investment services, pensions, company service providers, and virtual financial assets under the VFA Act. Its legal and enforcement division drafts regulatory policy, conducts supervisory investigations, issues authorisations, and represents the authority before the Financial Services Tribunal and Maltese courts. MFSA legal roles are central to Malta's position as an EU fintech and financial services hub.
