SEB banka (AS SEB banka) is the second-largest bank in Latvia, with its registered address at Elizabetes iela 95 in Riga's Quiet Centre (Klusais centrs) and its main operations centre (SEB finansu centrs) at Meistaru iela 1 in Valdlauci, Kekavas novads, just outside Riga. A subsidiary of the Swedish SEB Group, the Latvian operations employ approximately 900 people serving over 400,000 retail and corporate clients across the country. SEB banka's legal and compliance team manages banking regulatory compliance under Krediitiestaazu likums (Credit Institutions Law), corporate and investment banking transactions, capital markets advisory under Finanšu instrumentu tirgus likums (Financial Instruments Market Law), AML/CFT compliance, GDPR data protection, and consumer banking regulation. SEB banka is supervised by Latvijas Banka (which absorbed the FKTK on 1 January 2023) and the ECB under the Single Supervisory Mechanism. The bank has a strong focus on sustainable finance, green bonds, and ESG-linked lending products in line with the EU Taxonomy Regulation and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and plays a leading role in corporate banking and capital markets advisory in the Latvian market.
