TANESCO

Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) is the state-owned electricity utility responsible for generating, transmitting, and distributing electricity throughout Tanzania. Originally incorporated in 1931 and reformed in its current form in 1964, TANESCO is headquartered at Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, and employs approximately 7,300 people. The company operates under the Ministry of Energy and is the principal electricity supplier in the country.
