Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest energy companies and Sweden's state-owned power utility, headquartered at Evenemangsgatan 13 in Solna near Stockholm. With over 20,000 employees across Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK, Vattenfall is a major player in the European energy transition — operating nuclear, hydro, wind, and solar generation assets. Vattenfall's legal department handles energy regulation under ellagen (the Electricity Act), environmental permits under miljöbalken (the Environmental Code), power purchase agreements (PPAs), EU emissions trading (EU ETS), nuclear decommissioning, and cross-border energy infrastructure projects including offshore wind in the Baltic and North Seas.
