Wise (formerly TransferWise) is a global fintech company headquartered at Veerenni 24 in Tallinn's Telliskivi creative district area, one of Estonia's most successful technology companies and a flagship example of the country's thriving startup ecosystem. Co-founded by Kristo Käärmann and Taavet Hinrikus in 2011, Wise has grown to over 5,000 employees globally with approximately 700 in Tallinn, serving over 16 million customers who move billions in cross-border payments monthly. Wise holds an e-money licence from the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK and operates under Finantsinspektsioon supervision in Estonia.
