Job Description

Anti-Corruption & Rule of Law Advisor — UNAMI, Baghdad

UNAMI's Rule of Law Section is seeking a Legal Advisor to support Iraq's anti-corruption framework, judicial independence initiatives, and institutional reform programs. This role engages with Iraq's Commission of Integrity, the Board of Supreme Audit, and the Iraqi judiciary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on strengthening Iraq's anti-corruption legal framework and institutional capacity
  • Support the Commission of Integrity with investigation methodology and case management
  • Provide technical assistance on judicial independence and court administration reform
  • Analyze Iraqi legislation for compliance with UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC)
  • Coordinate with international anti-corruption partners (UNDP, EU, World Bank)
  • Draft policy papers and recommendations for the Special Representative

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in anti-corruption, rule of law, or governance programs
  • Knowledge of UNCAC and international anti-corruption frameworks
  • Experience in post-conflict or transitional governance contexts
  • Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency desirable
  • UN or international organization experience preferred
