This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Manager of Virtual Legal Support based in United States.
This fully remote leadership role supports a nationwide virtual legal support function serving attorneys and professional staff across multiple time zones. You will provide hands-on daily leadership while helping develop and strengthen virtual administrative support services. The role combines team management, workflow coordination, resource planning, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced legal environment. You will monitor workloads, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with senior leadership to improve efficiency and service delivery. Success requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly as priorities and deadlines change. Accountabilities:
- Provide daily leadership and operational support for the Virtual Legal Support team, remaining available throughout assigned shifts and providing occasional weekend coverage when needed.
- Lead by example by maintaining a hands-on approach to team support, service delivery, communication, and problem resolution.
- Manage workflow by tracking tasks, monitoring workloads, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring priorities and deadlines are effectively addressed.
- Evaluate workload demands across different virtual support services and recommend resource allocations to ensure efficient coverage and timely completion of work.
- Partner with upper management to identify operational challenges and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency, service quality, and team performance.
- Support the ongoing development and growth of virtual legal support services across a geographically distributed organization.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while managing a high volume of communications, requests, and competing priorities.
- Promote a professional, collaborative, and goal-oriented team environment that adapts effectively to changing business needs.
- Provide guidance and support to team members while helping maintain consistent service standards across multiple locations and time zones.
- 2–5 years of relevant leadership experience, preferably within a large, multi-location defense litigation law firm.
- Previous law firm experience is required, with mid-size to large law firm experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, high-volume professional environment.
- Strong organizational and workflow management skills, including the ability to identify bottlenecks and prioritize resources effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling multiple tasks and high volumes of communication.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a personable, professional approach to working with attorneys, staff, leadership, and team members.
- Goal-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing shifting priorities and time-sensitive deadlines.
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach and lead by example.
- Ability to work effectively within a fully remote, geographically distributed team and maintain availability during assigned evening hours.
- Annual salary range of $65,000–$78,000, with the final offer based on relevant skills, training, experience, and position location.
- Fully remote work model.
- Full-time, exempt position.
- Evening work schedule designed around U.S. time zones: 3 PM–midnight EST, 2 PM–11 PM CST, 1 PM–10 PM MST, or noon–9 PM PST.
