Regeneron’s R&D Legal team is seeking an attorney to provide strategic legal advice to the Global Clinical Development teams that support Regeneron’s robust and growing pipeline. The attorney will provide advice on a wide range of legal, regulatory, contractual, privacy, and compliance issues related to drug discovery and development. The attorney will work closely with scientists, clinicians, regulatory, and clinical operations colleagues in a global, matrixed environment. The attorney will be an integral part of a proactive and solutions-oriented legal team that provides advice to advance Regeneron’s pipeline

• Work Location: Sleepy Hollow, NY
• Work model/flexibility: 4 days per week on site

Discover your role:

• Provide proactive and strategic legal advice and counsel on global drug discovery and development activities in one or more therapeutic areas
• Advise Global Clinical Development teams on laws impacting drug discovery, research, and clinical development, including FDA regulations, human subject protection, data use and sharing, use of AI in research, GxP compliance, and other laws impacting research and development of innovative medicines
• Interact with internal business stakeholders, R&D management, and third-party partners including CROs
• Draft and negotiate a wide range of R&D documents including clinical trial agreements, consent forms, research collaboration agreements, and other contracts in support of our global clinical trial operations and medical affairs
• Counsel on patient privacy and patient rights on matters related to clinical research
• Serve as a subject matter expert on R&D matters within the Law Department and collaborate with other legal functions (e.g., Business Development and Contracting, Compliance, Data Protection/Privacy, Litigation and Products/Regulatory Law group)
• Legal support on Regeneron policies, governance, operating procedures, and training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote effective risk management.  
• Provide legal support on other matters as needed for the R&D, Regulatory and Commercialization Law team
• Maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining a strong partnership with clients

This role requires:

• Juris Doctor (J.D) degree with excellent law school credentials
• Licensed to practice law in New York or be eligible for licensure as a registered in-house counsel
• 4+ years experience working at a top-tier law firm or in-house healthcare company
• In-house biotech/pharmaceutical experience a significant plus
• Demonstrated ability to learn new subject matters quickly and translate complex legal concepts into practical business advic
• Interest in emerging technologies, AI, evolving regulatory frameworks that are shaping the future of biotechnology research and development
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
