Associate Legal Officer – Victims Participation at the International Criminal Court
The ICC is recruiting an Associate Legal Officer for the Victims Participation and Reparations Section (VPRS), supporting the rights of victims in ICC proceedings.
About the Role
You will assist victims legal representatives in preparing applications for participation in ICC proceedings, conduct outreach to affected communities, advise on reparations proceedings, and ensure that victim perspectives are effectively represented before the Court. This role combines legal expertise with a commitment to transitional justice and human rights.
Requirements
- Advanced law degree (LL.M.) in international law, human rights, or criminal law
- 3-5 years of experience in international criminal law, human rights, or transitional justice
- Knowledge of the Rome Statute provisions on victims rights (Articles 68 and 75)
- Experience working with conflict-affected populations
- Fluent in English and French; knowledge of Arabic, Spanish, or other languages is valued
- Sensitivity to gender and cultural issues in international justice
