Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Auditor, Controls & Compliance based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to join a high-trust global compliance team focused on strengthening and evolving a complex control environment.
You will work across business and IT processes, gaining broad exposure to financial, technology, and automated controls.
The role combines hands-on audit execution with opportunities to improve how compliance work is performed through data, automation, and AI.
You’ll partner with stakeholders to understand processes, identify risks, test controls, and develop practical remediation plans.
Your work will directly contribute to stronger governance, more effective SOX execution, and sustainable business improvements.
The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and designed for professionals who want to build lasting expertise in modern audit and compliance.
It is particularly well suited to a curious, analytical professional who enjoys solving problems and turning insights into action.

Accountabilities:

    • Support risk assessment, scoping, and planning activities for the annual SOX compliance cycle.
    • Conduct process walkthroughs with business and IT stakeholders to understand processes, systems, risks, and controls, and maintain clear narratives, flowcharts, and control matrices.
    • Execute design and operating effectiveness testing across financial controls, IT general controls, automated controls, and key reports, ensuring workpapers meet high-quality standards and external audit expectations.
    • Identify control deficiencies, assess root causes, and collaborate with process owners to develop practical and sustainable remediation plans.
    • Retest management action plans and monitor remediation progress to ensure identified issues are effectively addressed.
    • Apply data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled technologies to improve control testing, monitoring, efficiency, and insight generation.
    • Use tools such as Power BI, Copilot, and Power Automate to identify opportunities for more proactive and scalable compliance processes.
    • Provide practical recommendations based on audit fieldwork to strengthen SOX execution, control effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
    • Monitor developments in auditing, SOX, technology, automation, and AI, proactively identifying emerging risks and their potential impact on the compliance program.
    • Share knowledge and insights with colleagues and stakeholders while contributing to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and practices.
    • Requirements

      • 1–3+ years of experience in public accounting and/or internal audit, with a public accounting background strongly preferred.
      • CPA, CIA, CISA, or an equivalent professional certification, either completed or actively being pursued.
      • Working knowledge of internal controls and SOX Section 404, including walkthroughs, control testing, documentation, and deficiency management.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex processes and systems and evaluate risks within their broader business context.
      • Highly organized, self-motivated, and accountable, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, maintain high-quality work, and escalate issues appropriately.
      • Genuine curiosity about how business processes and technology work, combined with an interest in automation, data analytics, and AI.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust, ask thoughtful questions, communicate clearly, and engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
      • A collaborative mindset combined with the ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned areas, and contribute to broader team objectives.
      • Experience in gaming, entertainment, software, or technology environments is an advantage, particularly exposure to revenue recognition, software development, or system-driven processes.
      • Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems, AuditBoard, Power BI, Copilot, Power Automate, Azure DevOps, or Archer is a plus.
      • Benefits

        • Competitive base salary, with a U.S. range of $57,020–$105,480 annually, depending on experience, performance, qualifications, and work location.
        • Potential eligibility for incentive compensation in addition to base salary.
        • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
        • Health savings, health reimbursement, healthcare spending, and dependent care spending account options, subject to eligibility.
        • Life and AD&D insurance and disability coverage.
        • 401(k) with company matching.
        • Tuition reimbursement and charitable donation matching.
        • Paid holidays, vacation, sick time, floating holidays, bereavement/compassion leave, and parental leave.
        • Mental health, wellbeing, and fitness programs.
        • Free and discounted games and access to additional voluntary benefits, including legal services, identity protection, and rental insurance.
        • Potential relocation assistance where a company-required geographic move applies.
        • Opportunities to develop expertise in modern audit, compliance, data analytics, automation, and AI.
        • A collaborative, inclusive environment with strong opportunities for professional growth and knowledge sharing.
