This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Affairs Manager (Manager, Contracts) based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of creativity, production, and legal oversight within a fast-paced, global creative environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that complex marketing and production projects are executed smoothly from a contractual and compliance standpoint. Acting as a trusted partner to creative, production, legal, and project management teams, you will help structure agreements that enable bold creative work while managing risk effectively. The position requires strong expertise across production contracts, rights management, and entertainment or advertising deal structures. You will contribute to shaping best practices across business affairs processes while supporting a diverse range of content formats including digital, social, broadcast, and experiential activations. This is a highly collaborative role where attention to detail, negotiation skills, and commercial judgment directly support the successful delivery of global creative campaigns.
Accountabilities:
- Manage end-to-end business affairs and contract processes across production and creative projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal standards
- Collaborate closely with Legal, Production, Creative, Project Management, and Influencer teams to define contract terms, deliverables, and risk considerations
- Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, talent agreements, licensing deals, and other production-related contracts
- Evaluate production bids, budgets, and creative treatments to identify financial, legal, and operational risks early in the process
- Provide guidance on intellectual property rights, talent usage rights, licensing, and clearance requirements across all content formats
- Identify and mitigate contractual, regulatory, and production risks, ensuring compliance with advertising and marketing regulations
- Maintain and improve systems for tracking contracts, renewals, expirations, and key legal documentation
- Support cross-functional teams with business affairs expertise across broadcast, digital, social, influencer, and experiential campaigns
- 2+ years of experience in business affairs, contract management, legal, or compliance roles within advertising, media, or creative production environments
- Hands-on experience drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts such as MSAs, SOWs, talent agreements, and licensing arrangements
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law, rights management, and usage clearances in creative and media production
- Experience working with agencies, production companies, publishers, or media platforms across digital and traditional channels
- Familiarity with advertising, marketing, and content production workflows, including social, broadcast, and digital media execution
- Knowledge of union and non-union production environments (e.g., SAG-AFTRA, IATSE) is highly preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelorโs degree in Business, Law, or related field preferred (JD a plus but not required)
- High attention to detail and strong risk assessment and problem-solving abilities
- Competitive salary within the range of $75,000 โ $90,000 USD depending on experience and location
