Business Compliance Officer

As a Business Compliance Officer at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the bank's operations are conducted with integrity and in compliance with regulatory requirements. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders, identify potential risks, and implement effective controls to mitigate them. This role offers a unique blend of challenge and satisfaction, as you contribute to maintaining the bank's reputation and upholding the trust of our customers.

How you succeed
To excel in this role, you'll need to stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry trends. You'll work collaboratively with business units to identify and assess compliance risks, and develop effective controls to manage these risks. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential in identifying potential compliance issues and implementing solutions to address them.

What you do

  • Perform control testing, compliance checks in accordance to guidelines.
  • Conduct surveillance activities to identify potential frauds, threats or data loss. This includes system access surveillance monitoring.

  • Escalate control gaps and non-compliance issues in timely manner.

  • Support the preparation and submission of risk and compliance reports, dashboards, incident reporting.

  • Assist in data collection, reviews, audit preparation and remediation activities.

  • Support Business Continuity Planning and Operational Resilience activities, documentations and reporting.

  • Conduct stand-up /virtual training and/or briefings to staff

  • Keep abreast of new and changes to regulations, compliances & controls, and support implementation.

  • Support projects, process improvement initiatives and day-today control execution.

  • Perform administrative support, submission of requests, issue escalations and ensure effective discharge of the tasks assigned.


Who you are
- A degree in Law, Business, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of experience in compliance or a related field
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry trends
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance
