BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 聽This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), Real Property Tax Administration (RPTA). The incumbent plans, directs, and coordinates the activities both automated and manual, of the Assessment Division, comprised of professional assessors (GIS & CAMA), assessment technicians, legal instruments examiners and cartographers in the operation of assessment programs. Duties include but are not limited to: administering assessment programs and projecting and scheduling work assignments; directing quality control and establishing uniform standards, procedures, and techniques; assisting with planning and developing projects and goals and overseeing the acquisition, classification, and analysis of data for accurate assessments; establishing land valuation standards and procedures and developing tools to determine land value map content; deriving mass valuation methods and techniques; recommending and collaborating with consultants or staff on revisions to automated assessment practices, models, and procedural manuals; staying informed of business trends, court decisions, legal opinions, tax laws, and emerging assessment practices and disseminating information to staff; directing long-range planning to anticipate trends or determine legislative needs; participating in drafting legislation; reviewing proposed legislation and resolving issues related to tax laws; and preparing background materials to support budget requests and legislative presentations. Performs other related duties as assigned.
