Position Overview
Job Description
The Department of Business and Industry is recruiting to fill a Compliance/Audit Investigator 2 position within the Real Estate Division in Carson City. A Compliance/Audit Investigator 2 is required to conduct investigations of complaints regarding alleged violations of law. The investigator must have the ability to learn and apply NRS/NRS 645, NRS/NAC 119, NRS/NAC 119A, NRS/NAC 119B, and NRS 645H to allegations investigated; conduct interviews and correspond in writing, by phone, and in person with complainants, respondents, witnesses, attorneys, and constituents to either answer questions regarding provisions of applicable law or to obtain facts pertaining to a case; conduct audits of licensees on a periodic basis to ensure compliance with State law and prepare audit reports; follow internal protocol when preparing case files and investigative/audit reports that encompass clear and concise results of an investigation; retain chronological documentation of investigative steps taken and all contacts made in case of future litigation; reach conclusions and make recommendations based on evidence obtained regarding non-compliance with the law; prepare monthly caseload data reports according to departmental policy and procedure; prepare cases for the Commission hearings and testify at Commission hearings regarding violations of law pertaining to specific cases; manage their caseload in a manner that reflects effective time management skills; assist in special projects in the Real Estate Division upon request; attend relevant classes or training seminars based on need; and communicate effectively with superiors, co-workers and constituents while working in a fast-paced team environment.
