Job Description

Compliance Specialist should actively strive to contribute to compliance and understand legal requirements as well as internal work processes to minimize risk for Maersk, including through regulatory and customer requirements. The position should be well acquainted with strategy at a Customs Operations level with a particular focus on the Customs Compliance business in the Country.
Should have experience and competence within the Customs business.

This position supports the Compliance Manager and the Senior Compliance Advisor in managing compliance tasks in line with the organizational strategy, goals, policies and processes.

Job responsibilities

As a Compliance Specialist your main responsibility is to provide support to the customs operations organization:

  • Support in drafting notifications to customers.
  • Follow-up of files, taking into account the deadline set by the customs authorities.
  • Communication with customers and customs, mainly via e-mail.
  • Generating KPIโ€™s.
  • Registration of litigations.
  • Preparation of files by requesting documents from customers.
  • Monitor and follow-up on customs procedures on a country level.
  • Performing internal quality control.

Skills

  • Native level Dutch and fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office and Stream Software.
  • A team player with a flexible attitude.
  • Attention to details and accuracy.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Stress resistant.
  • The ability to work and plan your work independently.
