Role
To be the focal point of Transmission Operations (TNOps) equipment compliance and effectively manage all Compliance Testing. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operational Teams and internal/external Compliance Testing resource.
As a Compliance Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the TNOps Compliance Testing Inventory and ensuring its regular upkeep. Liaising with operational team leaders to schedule release of equipment from operational use to meet test deadlines.
What you’ll be doing
Develop a centralised inventory for all TNOps equipment that requires testing to remain compliant to the relevant legislations & Standards: LOLER, PSSR, Electrical Testing & Calibration etc.
Ensure all the equipment is tested as per the relevant legislation & test due dates for the equipment.
Ensure any defective or substandard equipment is repaired or disposed of and renewed, as required.
Work with external and internal testing specialists to ensure all equipment used by Transmission Operations is available & tested in line with its due date
Support the Logistics Manager with wider tasks in the Stores & Logistics department.
Support the wider Operational Risk Team, as required.
What you will bring
Enthusiastic and flexible individual with drive to succeed and self-motivated
Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and supportive of the wider goal of a zero-accident culture.
Developed customer service, negotiation, communication and people management skills.
Understanding of the variety of equipment used in Transmission Operations that needs regular compliance testing.
Broad operational experience preferred, e.g. spanning Transmission and Distribution Operations.
Ability to develop new processes and work to deadlines required by the role.
Minimum Criteria
Current or previous Compliance Testing experience
Full UK Drivers Licence
Completed a craft apprenticeship or equivalent, with all relevant compliance/testing bias qualifications
Working knowledge of a wide range of equipment, including - Pressure systems, Lifting Equipment, Electrical Calibration and Testing
