What you will do:
Work closely with client executives and management teams to understand their businesses and assist in identifying and managing consumer regulatory compliance risks within their business processes and systems.
Assist clients with understanding and complying with new or updated financial institution consumer regulations.
Research and interpret new or updated regulatory requirements and help clients determine how those changes may affect their products, services, operations, policies, procedures, and controls.
Stay current on relevant financial institution consumer regulations, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and industry developments.
Develop and maintain a broad knowledge and awareness of the financial institution industry and regulatory changes and identify potential impacts to compliance programs, testing plans, and internal audit activities.
Support our internal audit practice as a regulatory compliance resource on regulatory and compliance topics.
Assist clients with implementing or enhancing consumer compliance programs, policies, procedures, and controls.
Work collaboratively with engagement leaders and team members to complete projects accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
Build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and contribute to practice development activities.
Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firmwide learning and development programs.
Support the growth and development of less-experienced team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

Perform consumer regulatory compliance reviews, compliance testing, monitoring, internal audits, and gap assessments.
Evaluate compliance risks associated with areas such as deposits, consumer and commercial lending, mortgage lending, fair lending, marketing and advertising, complaints, privacy, and third-party relationships.
Document testing procedures, observations, and recommendations in clear, well-supported workpapers and client-ready reports.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
4 year degree
Three (3) years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, risk management, or a related field.
Three or more years of direct experience in financial institution consumer regulatory compliance, including compliance testing, monitoring, internal audit, regulatory examination support, or advisory services.
CRCM certification is preferred but not required. Candidates interested in pursuing the CRCM in the future are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with federal or state banking and consumer compliance requirements and the expectations of regulators such as the CFPB, FDIC, Federal Reserve, OCC, NCUA, or state banking agencies.
Experience working within or serving a bank, credit union, fintech company, financial services organization, consulting or public accounting firm, internal audit department, or banking regulatory agency.
Consulting or public accounting experience is preferred but not required; demonstrated success in a comparable fast-paced, client-service environment is required.
Experience in one or more consumer regulatory compliance areas, such as deposit compliance, lending compliance, mortgage compliance, fair lending, UDAAP, complaints, marketing and advertising compliance, privacy, or CRA. Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
Strong sense of urgency and client responsiveness.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, adapt to changing priorities, meet demanding deadlines, and produce accurate, client-ready work.
Ability to travel up to 10% based on client and engagement needs.
The compensation range for this role is $84,000 to $118,110 . Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
