Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contracts Manager based in Germany.

This is a fully remote opportunity for a commercially minded contracts professional to support a global organization across a diverse range of business agreements.
You will play a key role in protecting the organization’s risk profile while enabling efficient, commercially sound contracting.
The position combines contract review and negotiation with stakeholder advisory, process improvement, and risk management.
You’ll work closely with Sales, Product, Data Operations, suppliers, customers, and senior business stakeholders across multiple functions.
Your work will help accelerate new business, strengthen renewals, protect commercial interests, and ensure consistent contracting practices.
You’ll also contribute to projects designed to streamline contract processes and improve governance across the organization.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys balancing legal detail, commercial priorities, stakeholder relationships, and a varied workload in a remote environment.

Accountabilities

    • Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer and supplier contracts, licence agreements, framework agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, and employment agency contracts.
    • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contracting and approval processes, appropriate templates, contractual policies, and risk tolerance requirements.
    • Identify contractual risks and, where appropriate, escalate matters to the relevant legal counsel or decision-makers.
    • Coordinate required approvals for amended or non-standard contract terms, ensuring stakeholders have sufficient information to make informed decisions.
    • Draft amendments to standard customer and supplier templates and review third-party documentation to ensure alignment with the organization’s contracting strategy.
    • Partner with the Contracts Manager and wider teams on projects that streamline contracting processes, strengthen governance, and improve the overall risk profile.
    • Provide ad-hoc contractual support and guidance to business stakeholders and other members of the contracts team.
    • Ensure customer documentation for new business and renewals is well organized, accurate, and completed promptly to support profitable, on-strategy agreements.
    • Support renewal planning by assessing contractual risks and identifying opportunities for renegotiation where appropriate.
    • Work closely with Sales teams to encourage consistent use of Salesforce, DocuSign, approved processes, tools, and templates.
    • Provide customer-facing contractual responses and support sales training where required.
    • Build strong relationships with Key Account Managers and Sales Directors to promote awareness and compliance with contracting policies.
    • Work with Product and Data Operations teams to ensure appropriate contracts are in place for all relevant data supply streams and that data provenance is properly documented.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier agreements protect commercial interests and comply with established contracting strategies.
    • Review and negotiate data processing or data-sharing agreements when required, working closely with the Data Protection Officer.
    • Requirements

      • At least 2 years of experience reviewing contracts, preferably gained in an in-house environment.
      • Strong contract drafting, document preparation, version management, and negotiation skills.
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, with confidence working with stakeholders across different functions and levels.
      • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to balance risk management with practical business objectives.
      • Ability to manage and prioritize a varied workload while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
      • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
      • Fluency in at least one European language used in a country where the organization operates.
      • Strong computer literacy and confidence working with business systems and digital contracting tools.
      • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and providing training or guidance on contracting practices is desirable.
      • Project management experience and the ability to contribute effectively to process improvement initiatives are advantageous.
      • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
      • A collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented approach to contract management.
      • Ability to operate independently while knowing when to seek guidance or escalate contractual and risk-related issues.
      • Benefits

        • Full-time, permanent position.
        • Fully remote working opportunity within Europe.
        • Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, customer, supplier, and data-related agreements.
        • Significant exposure to cross-functional stakeholders, including Sales, Product, Data Operations, and senior business leaders.
        • Opportunity to contribute to contract governance, risk management, and process improvement initiatives.
        • International and collaborative working environment.
        • Professional development opportunities through exposure to complex commercial contracting and stakeholder management.
        • Inclusive workplace committed to equal employment opportunities.
        • Support and reasonable accommodations available throughout the recruitment and selection process.
