Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Head of Contracts the Contracts Manager is responsible for managing allocated elements of the Logistics, Commodities and Services Delivery Partner Contract and supporting commercial delivery across the Programme.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead on allocated elements of the LCST Delivery Partner Contract, associated contract changes, commissioning activities and on-contract growth opportunities
- Develop strong working relationships across customer, programme and functional teams
- Act as a key commercial interface with MOD stakeholders, including the Commissioning Management Organisation (CMO)
- Provide advice and support to programme teams with interpretation of contractual obligations
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, schedules and governance requirements
- Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables and notice requirements, ensuring timely compliance and escalation of non-compliance risks
- Prepare and maintain complete and accurate contract files and records, including notices, waivers, deviations, NDAs and amendments
- Support contract audits and assurance activities
- Identify, assess and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
- Manage contractual impacts associated with service delivery issues, customer requests and contract changes
- Escalate material risks and contractual concerns to the Head of Contracts.
- Represent the Contracts function at programme working groups and governance forums
- Support management and resolution of contractual claims, disputes and formal customer correspondence, protecting Leidos' commercial position whilst maintaining positive customer relationships
- Facilitate collaborative working between Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal and Programme Management teams
- Lead commercial reviews and support approval boards relating to allocated workstreams
- Support preparation of management information and commercial performance metrics
- Provide contractual input to business cases, operational decisions and strategic initiatives
- Support implementation of commercial efficiencies and process improvements
- Ensure commercial activities are undertaken in accordance with Leidos policies and procedures
- Contribute to successful delivery of Leidos business objectives
- Protect Leidos from unapproved scope growth and unfunded commitments
Skills Required:
- Degree qualified or equivalent relevant commercial experience, with demonstrable experience in contract and commercial management
- Contract management experience within Defence, Government or complex service contracts
- Experience managing contract change processes and negotiations
- Strong understanding of commercial risk management
- Ability to interpret complex contractual documentation
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and customers
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skills Desired:
- MOD or Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) experience
- Knowledge of commissioning/change processes
- Familiarity with long-term service contracts
- Membership of WorldCC, CIPS or similar professional body
- Understanding of public procurement and Government contracting
Clearance Requirements:
- BPSS pre-screening required to start
- SC required for the role

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD's materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).

Pay Range:
£44,700.00-£57,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
