<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Major League Baseball Business &amp; Technology Legal team oversees the legal aspects of a wide range of Major League Baseball’s domestic and international commercial activities, including licensing, products, national events (such as the World Series and the All-Star Game), marketing, advertising, sponsorship, ticketing, video and mobile games and gaming, technology infrastructure, software licensing, consumer protection, data privacy, and information security. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Negotiate and structure commercial agreements based on the needs of MLB’s business and operational units (e.g. information security, technology, product, business development, events, ticketing, e-commerce, content, social media, marketing, advertising and sponsorship, licensing human resources, public relations and finance).</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Communicate regularly with Major League Baseball’s clubs regarding league agreements related to business operations and technology.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide general in-house legal services to and advise MLB’s business and operational units.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide oversight, strategy and direction to outside counsel.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications and Skills</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Member of New York State Bar in good standing.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Top academic credentials and references.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of four (4) years as a practicing lawyer, preferably with at least several years’ experience in a well-regarded law firm.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Significant transactional experience negotiating and structuring major licensing and other commercial agreements.&nbsp; Experience with technology, information security and/or consumer data privacy strongly preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Excellent communication skills; strong ability to build and maintain relationships.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Must work effectively in a fast-paced environment, interacting regularly with senior management.</span></li> <li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Must be able to simultaneously accomplish multiple quantitatively and qualitatively challenging tasks.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Salary Range:</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span>$180,000 - $205,000(Base Salary) + Bonus</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
