Job Description

The Infant and Toddler Connection (ITC) of Greater Prince William is looking for a full-time Early Intervention Supervisor to join our team of early intervention professionals providing specialized services to eligible infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. Provide support, guidance, communication, and training to vendors; develop and present orientation modules for all new ITC staff; develop, present, and/or support ongoing training for all ITC staff; supervise direct services staff; attend team meetings and mentor staff as needed. Performs professional and supervisory work in coordinating, tracking, and monitoring a system of Early Intervention services designed to provide a range of clinical and supervisory family support services to families of infants and toddlers (ages 0 to 3 years) with developmental disabilities; and performs related work as required.

This position qualifies for a $5,000 hiring bonus. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments. The first installment of $2,500 will be paid after you have completed 90 days of employment. The final $2,500 installment will be disbursed upon successful completion of the probationary period.

About This Role:

Provides training and supervision to direct service staff with a focus on specialized clinical skills and techniques. Identifies areas of need and provides mentoring and teaching in specific techniques for all direct service staff. Assists Program Manager/Division Manager in the planning and execution of system wide training and staff support. Responsible for State required fidelity assessment implementation and assurance to best practice system wide.
 
Provides supervision to staff in the specific provision of Part C early intervention services as it relates to a clinical specialty area (motor or cognitive/communication). Identifies areas of need and provide and/or arrange for mentoring in specific therapeutic techniques and skills. Conducts team meetings. Schedules system wide or program wide training as needed. Ensures clinical compliance and adherence to Medicaid and licensure requirements for early intervention provision. Completes direct supervision sessions and performance evaluations for assigned therapeutic/developmental services staff in conjunction with the Program Manager/Division Manager.
 
Participates on the eligibility committee to determine eligibility for early intervention services in accordance with current Part C standards. Participates in the Assessment for Service Planning as an evaluator and develops the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) with equal input from parents and other members of the multidisciplinary team including clinical interventionists and service coordinators. Demonstrates a breadth and depth of knowledge regarding current assessment tools for the early intervention population. In development of the IFSP, writes long-term and short-term clinical goals to be formulated in the following areas of development: social, gross, and fine motor, self-help, cognition, receptive and expressive language, and play. Uses assigned electronic equipment (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) in creating documents to be shared with other team members and families.
 
Conducts ongoing clinical interventions using natural learning environment practices. Delivers services using the primary service provider model. Interacts and supports families using a coaching style of interaction. Builds joint plans based on family routines and child interests. Regularly observes, evaluates, assesses, and records the developmental progress of the children, updating the IFSP. Utilizes authentic assessment practices in clinical evaluation and treatment in accordance with IFSP outcomes and documents accordingly.
 
Provides support to vendor agency managers on the implementation of Natural Learning Environment Practices. Ensures best practices training and monitoring of contracted service providers. Provides state-required oversight of fidelity assessments required for therapist early intervention credentialing.
 
Participates in staff and team meetings to support a collaborative approach to the development of each infant and toddler and in adherence to natural learning environment practices. Participates in meetings as a subject matter expert in their own discipline while also providing support and strategies for multi-disciplinary team members. Presents to staff members on areas of expertise and, when applicable, including after pursuing outside continuing education opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical, Occupational, or Speech-Language Pathology or Early Childhood Special Education or related
  • VA license/certification to practice physical, occupational, speech-language pathology, early childhood special education or have LCSW, LPC or MFT license
  • 3 or more years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a Part C program or similar human services local/state/federal program

Preferences:

  • 2 years of supervisory experience in clinical supervision of multi-disciplinary clinical staff
  • Current VA Part C Certification with experience working in a VA EI program

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and pass DMV record check
  • Must pass TB test
  • Must pass and maintain first aid and CPR certification
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprint-based National Criminal History Record Check
  • Child Protective Services Requirements:  Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services

Work Schedule:

This position is typically Monday – Friday, 8 hours/day, with the possibility of administrative and supervisory duties extending beyond this on occasion. The EI Supervisor will work in the office and remotely as the program needs dictate. 

This is a telework-eligible role that may revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change.

Starting Salary Range

$91,162.50-$121,836.00
