People are living longer and we’re excited by the opportunities this brings to help people live their best lives. We’re here for everyone who wants to make the most of their time on the planet and leave it a little better than they found it – however grand or humble their ambitions.

We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.

We're looking for a Fund Contracts Negotiation Manager to join our Investments team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Aegon's investment proposition, leading the negotiation and execution of fund management agreements and associated legal documentation across our investment platforms and propositions.

You'll work closely with fund managers, legal teams, regulatory experts and senior stakeholders to ensure new investment opportunities can be delivered efficiently while protecting Aegon's commercial interests and managing risk.

This role combines stakeholder management, negotiation, project management and regulatory awareness. You'll oversee complex contract negotiations from initiation through to completion, maintain robust governance and controls, and help shape best practice across the function. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy influencing outcomes and have a strong understanding of the UK investment industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the negotiation and execution of legal agreements and associated documentation required to support the launch of new investment funds and fund ranges across Aegon's propositions.
  • Manage contract amendments, renewals, novation’s and other legal changes required to support existing fund managers and investment solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, legal representatives, compliance teams, regulators and key internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of negotiations, approvals and contractual documentation to support governance and audit requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate contractual, operational and regulatory risks while driving negotiations to successful conclusions.
  • Support regulatory change initiatives and business projects requiring updates to contractual arrangements and legal documentation.
  • Continuously review and enhance processes, controls and ways of working to improve efficiency, consistency and customer outcomes.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience within the UK fund management, investment platform, wealth, pensions or wider financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of investment funds, fund managers, platforms, advisers, discretionary fund managers and the broader investment landscape.
  • Demonstrable experience in contract negotiation, stakeholder management, and achieving client-focused outcomes within agreed timescales.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex negotiations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret contractual and legal documentation, assessing potential business impacts and risks.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across legal, regulatory, operational and commercial teams.

What’s in it for you?

  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place.  We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%.  If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our employees live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.  To find out more about what to expect at Aegon, visit our careers site.
