Take ownership of contract management for major hydroelectric projects across Québec, from bidding through execution, project closeout, and warranty.

Accountabilities:
- End-to-End Contract Management: Manage all contractual aspects of hydroelectric projects from bid preparation through execution, project closure, and the warranty period, including drafting, reviewing, and adapting commercial clauses to meet project requirements.
- Contract Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement contract strategies tailored to individual project challenges, working closely with project leadership to secure contractual positions, mitigate risks, and capture opportunities.
- Changes, Claims, and Amendments: Prepare and manage change notices, amendments, claims, and other contractual requests in accordance with contractual obligations, while participating in negotiations and finalization with clients, partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Risk and Opportunity Management: Analyze contracts to identify risks, opportunities, deviations, and areas of concern, and develop and maintain contract management plans and appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Commercial Protection: Provide recommendations that protect commercial and contractual interests, ensure relevant requirements are flowed down to suppliers and subcontractors on a back-to-back basis, and monitor changes to preserve contractual rights.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with project teams, commercial leaders, legal, procurement, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve contractual issues, support decision-making, and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Compliance and Performance: Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, deviations, correspondence, notifications, insurance matters, delays, variations, and claims while maintaining accurate documentation, traceability, and performance tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalation and Continuous Improvement: Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews, openly escalate significant issues to leadership, coordinate with legal teams on major claims or disputes, and contribute to improved commercial procedures and practices.
- Education and Experience: Hold a university degree in Engineering, Law, Business, Finance, or a related technical discipline, combined with at least 7 years of demonstrated contract management experience in complex project environments such as Energy, EPC, Construction, or Infrastructure.
- Contract Management Expertise: Demonstrate strong experience structuring, compiling, drafting, and negotiating complex, high-value contract amendments, changes, and other commercial documentation in accordance with contractual standards and requirements.
- Project Financial Understanding: Possess a solid understanding of project financial considerations, including costs, margins, and risks, and how these factors connect to effective contract management.
- EPC and Project Knowledge: Bring proven experience with turnkey EPC projects and the ability to understand the commercial and contractual dynamics of complex project environments.
- Negotiation and Risk Management: Demonstrate effective negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to anticipate, assess, and proactively mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
- Claims and Disputes: Experience managing major claims or dispute files is highly desirable, along with the ability to recommend practical solutions to complex contractual issues.
- Communication and Collaboration: Have excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across project, commercial, legal, procurement, client, and partner organizations.
- Languages: Have excellent written and spoken French and the ability to work effectively in English with global teams and international partners.
- Problem-Solving and Organization: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, sound judgment, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and comfort working in a dynamic and complex matrix environment.
