Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Litigation & Legal Compliance based in the United States.

This senior legal leadership role will oversee complex litigation, dispute resolution, and compliance initiatives within a fast-growing global technology environment.
The position requires a strategic legal advisor who can partner with cross-functional teams and provide practical guidance on business-critical matters.
You will manage litigation strategies, regulatory compliance projects, external counsel relationships, and enterprise risk initiatives.
The role offers the opportunity to shape legal processes, improve operational efficiency, and support responsible growth across a global organization.
Working closely with business leaders, technology teams, and legal stakeholders, you will help navigate evolving legal challenges.

Accountabilities:

    The Head of Litigation & Legal Compliance will serve as a key legal partner, providing strategic advice and leading initiatives that protect the organization while enabling business growth. The role will focus on managing complex legal matters, improving compliance frameworks, and driving collaboration across departments.

    • Provide strategic and practical legal guidance on litigation, dispute resolution, investigations, and compliance matters.
    • Support internal stakeholders with day-to-day litigation counseling and business-focused legal advice.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, processes, and best practices related to legal risk management.
    • Manage relationships with external law firms, consultants, and other legal service providers.
    • Partner with technology teams to optimize e-discovery systems, improve legal technology efficiency, and enhance data retention practices.
    • Collaborate with leaders across sales, product, marketing, finance, IT, information security, human resources, and legal teams to manage disputes and compliance projects effectively.
    • Lead compliance programs, internal training initiatives, and cross-functional projects related to enterprise risk management, anti-corruption regulations, export controls, and regulatory obligations.
    • Oversee litigation and compliance budgets, ensuring cost efficiency, vendor optimization, and financial predictability.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience handling complex legal matters in both law firm and in-house environments, with the ability to operate independently and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and business-oriented thinking are essential for success in this role.

      • 10+ years of combined experience in litigation, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, including experience at a law firm and within a global company.
      • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
      • Active license to practice law in the United States.
      • Proven ability to manage complex legal issues, multidisciplinary projects, and evolving business priorities.
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts and provide actionable recommendations.
      • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities independently.
      • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and constantly changing environment.
      • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, build trusted relationships, and maintain a positive, accountable approach under pressure.
