This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IP Patent Paralegal based in the United States.
This is an opportunity for a mid- to senior-level IP professional to support sophisticated patent practices in a dynamic, client-focused environment. You鈥檒l play an important role in managing patent filings, deadlines, records, and portfolio administration across domestic and international matters. Working closely with attorneys, inventors, and outside counsel, you鈥檒l help ensure patent matters progress accurately and efficiently. The role combines technical legal support, detailed docket management, research, and process coordination. You鈥檒l have the opportunity to contribute to improving filing and portfolio-management processes while working on meaningful intellectual property matters. Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities will be essential to your success. This remote position is well suited to an experienced paralegal who values autonomy, precision, and collaboration.
Accountabilities
- Prepare, file, and track patent applications and related documentation, ensuring filings are accurate and completed within required deadlines.
- Maintain patent docketing systems and monitor filing deadlines, prosecution milestones, and other critical dates.
- Support the administration and ongoing management of domestic and international patent portfolios.
- Coordinate with attorneys, inventors, and external counsel to gather information, documentation, and other materials required for patent matters.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patent records and prepare portfolio reports, status updates, and related documentation.
- Assist with patent research, filing coordination, and other administrative activities supporting intellectual property matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and contribute to more efficient patent filing, docketing, and portfolio-management processes.
- Manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness.
- Mid- to senior-level experience working as a patent paralegal, IP paralegal, or in a closely related intellectual property support role.
- Demonstrated experience with patent filings, patent docketing, and intellectual property portfolio management.
- Experience supporting both domestic and international patent matters is highly valued.
- Familiarity with patent filing and docketing platforms, systems, and related legal technology.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, inventors, outside counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Strong research and technology skills, with the ability to work efficiently across legal databases, docketing systems, and digital tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and quality.
- A paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work independently in a remote environment are important for success.
- Estimated total compensation for non-attorney roles ranging from $71,250 to $309,750 per year, depending on experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
