The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Real Estate team in Melbourne on a fixed-term contract until January 2028, covering parental leave.


Supporting partner, Niresha Mudalige and the broader Real Estate team, this is a great opportunity for a confident, highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant who enjoys taking ownership of a busy practice, building trusted relationships and keeping things running smoothly.


While you will primarily work from our Melbourne office, we offer flexibility to work from home up to two days per week, depending on the needs of the practice.



What you’ll do

  • Manage a high volume of matters, keeping deadlines, requirements and workflows on track
  • Maintain strong relationships with established clients and provide responsive, high-quality support
  • Manage the monthly billing cycle, from preparation and edits through to finalisation and follow-up
  • Support business development initiatives, client activities and events
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and associated logistics
  • Provide diary and inbox support as required, helping manage priorities and commitments
  • Prepare and manage correspondence and documents to a high standard
  • Provide oversight of day-to-day administrative support, effectively delegating tasks and managing priorities
  • Identify smarter ways of working, including opportunities to use technology and AI



What you’ll bring:

  • A positive and pro-active approach.
  • An ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver polished, high-quality work.
  • Experience in a professional services firm, with legal support highly regarded.
  • Experience in property or real estate is a plus.
  • Experience with billing, reporting and matter management.
  • Strong time management and the ability to juggle priorities with ease.
  • A client-focused approach and enthusiasm for building strong relationships.
  • Confidence in guiding and mentoring junior team members.
  • Professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
