Job Description

SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

  • Constellation Brands is seeking an experienced Legal Operations Specialist to join its growing Legal Operations team, reporting to the Director of Legal Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, solutions-focused professional to help advance legal technology, streamline processes, and improve operational effectiveness across the legal department. Working within a lean, highly collaborative team, this role offers broad exposure to legal operations, cross-functional partnership, and meaningful project work that supports the department’s continued growth and evolution.
  • In close partnership with the Director of Legal Operations and the Manager of Legal Operations, the Legal Operations Specialist will help drive system implementations, legal projects, reporting, and end-user training.
  • The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience in a legal, compliance, or corporate environment, along with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams. Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), legal e-billing, and document management systems is preferred, as is the ability to train end users effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Optimization: Help analyze, design, and improve legal department workflows, policies, and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Technology Management: Help evaluate, implement, and administer legal technology solutions, including e-billing, contract lifecycle management, document management systems, and AI tools.
  • Project Management: Contribute to legal projects and initiatives, including system implementations.
  • Training: Help deliver end-user training and support adoption of CLM, legal e-billing, document management, and related systems.
  • Data & Metrics: Contribute to reporting and analytics, including legal spend management, data validation, dashboard configuration, and presentation-ready insights.
  • Records Management: Help support records cleanup efforts and related organizational initiatives.
  • Knowledge Management: Help maintain and improve legal department resources, templates, and knowledge bases.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across IT, Procurement, Finance, HR, and Compliance to support company-wide initiatives and drive alignment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as computer science, information technology, engineering, law, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in legal operations, paralegal work, legal project management, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of legal procedures and regulations.
  • Experience administering legal technology systems, including CLM, legal e-billing, document management, IP, e-signature, workflow and task automation, intake solutions, and creating AI agents is preferred.
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytical tools, including Power BI, is a plus.
  • Experience training and supporting others in the use of technology tools, including one-on-one end-user support, is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies that support legal operations workflows, streamline administrative tasks, improve reporting, and enhance process efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and reprioritize effectively within short time frames.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with business colleagues using clear and concise verbal and written communication.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and a responsible, conscientious approach to work.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, and work on a computer for extended periods.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • May require limited domestic travel for corporate and industry-related meetings.
  • This position is based in Rochester, NY and follows a hybrid schedule, with an expectation of two days per week in the office.

The salary range for this role is:

$74,900.00 - $112,300.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  Our compensation is based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several US geographic markets, including the lowest geographic market minimum to the highest geographic market maximum. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, the prevailing minimum wage for the location, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.  At Constellation Brands, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
