Job Description

Vuori is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic in-house legal team. This role will provide critical support for all litigation matters affecting our premium performance apparel business, working directly with our CLO, Senior Counsel and outside counsel to manage complex commercial disputes, employment matters, intellectual property litigation, regulatory proceedings and insurance claims management.  This is a new role with the company, and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the company’s approach to managing all aspects of litigation. 

What you'll get to do: 

Compliance & Documentation 

  • Maintain litigation holds and coordinate with IT on data preservation 
  • Maintain comprehensive litigation files and case management systems and ensure records retention compliance for litigation-related documents 
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, local procedures, and internal policies 
  • Prepare regulatory filings and responses to government inquiries 
  • Support internal investigations, employment-related disputes, and settlement administration including documentation and payment coordination 

Case Management & Discovery 

  • Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and court filings across multiple jurisdictions 
  • Coordinate and oversee document discovery processes, including e-discovery platforms 
  • Review and respond to subpoena requests, including preparation of responsive information and documents and coordination with interested parties  
  • Prepare witness files, exhibit binders, and dispute resolution materials 
  • Draft routine pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence under attorney supervision 

Legal Research & Analysis 

  • Conduct factual and legal research using applicable legal databases 
  • Analyze contracts, policies, and business records relevant to pending litigation 
  • Prepare case summaries and status reports for executive leadership 

Vendor & Outside Counsel Coordination 

  • Serve as primary liaison with external litigation counsel,  
  • Support risk management team with claims submissions and tracking and coordination with insurance brokers and adjustors  
  • Review and process legal invoices for accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines and assist with litigation budget tracking and matter-level reporting 
  • Coordinate expert witness retention, case preparation, and ADR/mediation logistics including scheduling and document preparation 
  • Manage relationships with other litigation vendors 

Real Estate 

  • Review lease correspondence (including notices) that comes to the Legal Department and coordinate with lead attorney on prioritization and next steps 
  • Proficiency with DocuSign in creating complicated envelopes that include reviewers and signoffs 
  • Foundational understanding of real estate law and transactions and willingness to grow skillset 
  • Manage and update the electronic lease repository and real estate records, including document organization, version control, and file integrity 
  • Develop proficiency in negotiating ancillary lease-related contracts and preparing detailed lease abstracts, with training and mentorship provided  

Qualifications

Who you are: 

  • Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years litigation paralegal experience, preferably in corporate environment 
  • Notary license preferred 
  • Proficiency in e-discovery platforms (Relativity, Concordance), case management software, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint  
  • Strong understanding of federal and state court procedures, discovery rules, and litigation timelines 
  • Experience with retail, consumer products, or apparel industry litigation 
  • Background in employment law, intellectual property, and/or commercial disputes 
  • California state court experience 
  • Project management certification or experience 
  • Excited by the idea of innovating and driving efficiency in the delivery of legal services using AI legal tools 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment 
  • Effective communicator with strong writing and drafting skills 
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, organizational skills, and dedication to details  
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the company, including senior officers, on a regular basis  
  • Fast learner and self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

The salary range for this role is $117,000 per year - $140,000 per year. This role is bonus eligible.
