Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Legal Programs (Privacy & AI) based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape privacy and AI governance initiatives within a fast-growing healthcare technology organization.
You will help build scalable legal programs that support responsible innovation at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and consumer products.
The position combines legal operations, project management, and cross-functional collaboration with teams across the business.
You will partner with legal, product, engineering, marketing, and policy teams to manage evolving regulatory challenges.

Accountabilities:

    The Manager, Legal Programs (Privacy & AI) will support the development and execution of privacy and AI governance programs while managing strategic legal initiatives across the organization. This role requires strong program management skills, regulatory awareness, and the ability to coordinate complex projects across multiple stakeholders.

    • Partner with privacy and legal stakeholders to operate and continuously improve privacy compliance programs.
    • Support compliance efforts related to privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and healthcare-related privacy requirements.
    • Maintain and improve privacy documentation, including data maps, records of processing activities, legitimate interest assessments, and compliance records.
    • Coordinate privacy risk assessments, audits, and mitigation activities for new business initiatives.
    • Conduct initial privacy reviews for products, services, and operational changes while escalating complex matters when needed.
    • Support vendor privacy reviews by managing questionnaires, coordinating internal feedback, and contributing to contract review processes.
    • Help build and operate an AI governance program focused on responsible AI adoption and regulatory compliance.
    • Develop workflows, documentation, and processes to support effective AI governance across business teams.
    • Maintain an inventory of AI systems and use cases while coordinating intake, classification, and ongoing monitoring.
    • Track evolving privacy and AI regulations, including emerging AI governance requirements, and translate changes into actionable program updates.
    • Lead cross-functional legal projects in partnership with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Public Policy, and other internal teams.
    • Drive operational improvements that enable scalable legal support and effective risk management.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced legal program professional with a strong background in privacy, AI governance, and cross-functional project management. You should be comfortable operating independently, managing complex initiatives, and translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions.

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
      • 8+ years of experience in legal project or program management, with a focus on privacy, compliance, and/or AI governance.
      • Experience managing cross-functional projects from planning through successful completion.
      • Strong understanding of privacy compliance concepts and familiarity with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or healthcare privacy requirements.
      • Experience supporting legal operations within technology, healthcare, consumer products, or similarly regulated industries preferred.
      • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and emerging AI regulations is a plus.
      • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
      • Demonstrated ability to coordinate stakeholders across legal, product, engineering, marketing, and business teams.
      • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical operational outcomes.
      • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of initiatives, and drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex legal and compliance topics.
