Member of Legal, Brokerage and Trading Solutions

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Member of Legal, Brokerage and Trading Solutions based in the United States.

This is a strategic legal opportunity supporting the development of institutional digital asset trading and financial infrastructure products.
You will work closely with business, product, legal, and compliance leaders from early product discovery through launch and ongoing operations.
The role combines sophisticated transactional work with regulatory analysis across trading venues, prime brokerage, custody, derivatives, financing, and payment infrastructure.
You will structure and negotiate complex financial agreements while helping establish scalable policies, templates, and compliance frameworks.
The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape legal strategy in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
You will operate in a fast-paced, high-volume setting where commercial judgment, initiative, and technical legal expertise are highly valued.
This role is particularly suited to an experienced transactional attorney who enjoys solving novel problems at the intersection of financial services, technology, and digital assets.

Accountabilities

• Partner closely with business leaders, product teams, and legal and compliance stakeholders to support the growth and development of trading solutions and bring new products and features to market.
• Provide strategic legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and structuring through launch and ongoing regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Draft, review, structure, and negotiate sophisticated counterparty agreements, including digital asset trading agreements, prime brokerage agreements, collateral and margin agreements, loan agreements, settlement terms, ISDAs, confirmations, master confirmations, disclosures, and risk factors.
• Advise on legal and regulatory requirements applicable to spot trading, margin, derivatives, platform trading, prime brokerage, and other digital asset business models.
• Assess and address complex regulatory, contractual, commercial, and reputational risks while developing pragmatic solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, legal guidelines, policies, procedures, and playbooks in partnership with Compliance and other relevant teams.
• Support internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to ensure stakeholders understand relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage multiple medium-to-large legal projects independently, prioritizing work according to organizational goals and clearly communicating the rationale behind legal recommendations.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary and coordinate advice across multiple jurisdictions and areas of expertise.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external counterparties, serving as a trusted and client-facing legal advisor on complex transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor evolving laws, regulations, and proposed regulatory frameworks affecting digital assets and translate their implications into actionable guidance for the business.

Requirements

• 8+ years of transactional legal experience, with substantial experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating sophisticated financial transaction agreements.
• Strong experience with lending agreements, prime brokerage agreements, ISDA/CSA documentation, trade confirmations, derivatives, financing arrangements, and related financial market documentation.
• Deep understanding of laws and regulations applicable to digital assets, including spot and margin trading, derivatives, platform trading, prime brokerage, and related financial products.
• Familiarity with the market infrastructure supporting digital assets, including crypto trading venues, prime brokers, custodians, and payment rails.
• Ability to apply traditional financial services legal concepts to emerging digital asset business models and develop solutions for complex institutional client requirements.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup, scale-up, or similarly dynamic environment, with the flexibility to manage changing priorities and high volumes of work.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, combined with a bias toward action and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and regulatory issues clearly to business and non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgment and creative problem-solving skills, with an ability to balance legal risk, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across legal, compliance, product, trading, and business teams.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and taking ownership of both strategic initiatives and detailed transactional work.
• J.D. degree preferred.
