Les avocats ou avocates travailleront à distance de manière autonome principalement, effectuant de la révision juridique de documents dans le cadre d’énormes dossiers reliés au droit de la responsabilité professionnelle des avocat·e·s. Ils ou elles participeront également à des rencontres d'équipe régulières, soit virtuellement ou en personne au bureau de Montréal.
Il s’agit de postes d’avocat·e·s contractuel·le·s d’une durée approximative de 2 à 3 mois, avec possibilité de prolongation.
En raison de la structure pancanadienne et mondiale du cabinet d’avocats Clyde & Co et des clients desservis, les réviseurs ou réviseuses de documents juridiques seront appelé·e·s à analyser des documents de nature juridique rédigés en anglais, et ce afin d’en extraire les points juridiques pertinents, entre autres tâches.
Plus particulièrement et sans que cette liste ne soit exhaustive, les réviseurs ou réviseuses de documents juridiques devront être en mesure de rédiger des notes de service et d’assurer un soutien à la préparation d’interrogatoires au sein d’un contexte de travail nécessitant un usage approprié de l’anglais.
L’ensemble de cette fonction requiert des compétences en anglais oral et écrit de niveau minimalement intermédiaire.
Vos responsabilités
- Révision et analyse d'un volume élevé de documents et d'échanges par courriel entre les parties aux litiges ainsi que les dossiers des clients;
- Rédaction de notes de service sur les sujets traités ;
- Soutien à la préparation d’interrogatoires au préalable;
- Repérage et extraction des éléments clés;
- Rencontres d'équipe sur une base régulière pour faire le point et orienter les démarches futures;
- Participation et soutien à l'élaboration de stratégies dans le cadre de ces dossiers.
Vos compétences et votre expérience
- Diplôme en droit civil d'une université reconnue;
- Membre en règle du Barreau du Québec;
- 1 à 5 ans d'expérience pertinente;
- Bilinguisme (français et anglais) requis par la nature des documents à réviser avec une perspective juridique, en plus de l’habileté pour l’analyse, les résumés et l’extraction de points juridiques pertinents;
- Excellents jugement et raisonnement juridique;
- Rigueur et souci du détail;
- Diligence;
- Esprit d'équipe et de collaboration;
- Connaissance de Relativity, Nextpoint ou autre plateforme serait un atout.

The lawyers will be working fully remotely and autonomously for the most part, performing legal document reviews pertaining to huge files relating to Professional Liability of lawyers. Regular team meetings will take place either virtually or on site at our Montreal office.
This is a contractual lawyer role of 2 to 3 months, with possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and analyzing a large volume of documents and email exchanges amongst parties to the professional liability actions, including the clients’ files.
- Drafting memoranda on relevant documents reviewed.
- Assisting with the preparation of examinations on discovery.
- Identifying and extracting key documents.
- Attending regular meetings with the team to report on progress and provide guidance on next steps.
- Participating in and supporting the development of case strategies.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in civil law from a reputable university.
- Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec.
- 1 to 5 years of relevant litigation experience.
- Biliingualism (French and English) required by the nature of the documents to review with a legal perspective along with the ability to analyse, summarize and extract key legal points.
- Sound judgement and legal reasoning.
- Rigor and attention to detail.
- Diligence.
- Team spirit and collaboration.
- Knowledge of Relativity, Nextpoint or other document review platform would be an asset.
