About the team and role

As Team Leader within Linklaters’ global Legal & Risk team, you will act as the people, process and workload manager for both the Warsaw-based Regulatory Compliance and Contentious Risk operational teams. You will oversee day-to-day delivery, allocate and prioritise work, support team development, and help ensure high-quality, efficient risk management across both areas. Working closely with the wider global Regulatory Compliance and Contentious Risk teams, you will also gradually take on responsibility for a broad range of operational Regulatory Compliance matters, providing practical and commercial in-house support to the firm’s practice and business teams on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, professional obligations and internal policies.

You will:

  • Support the Manager with day-to-day hub operations, including workload planning, resourcing and absence cover.
  • Oversee the allocation, prioritisation and timely delivery of workstreams to a high standard.
  • Act as an operational lead, managing escalations, workflow and stakeholder coordination.
  • Monitor performance against service level agreements and key performance indicators, using insights to drive improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and turnaround times.
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures for Regulatory Compliance and Contentious Risk workstreams.
  • Support team development and capability building through mentoring, feedback and growth planning.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration and strong team spirit across the team.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Warsaw, London and Singapore, and with internal stakeholders, to ensure joined-up delivery.

Regulatory compliance responsibilities

  • Manage key compliance processes, including outside interests, client due diligence, insider lists, data destruction requests and incident reporting.
  • Respond to day-to-day regulatory and policy queries, providing practical guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships across the firm and, where relevant, with clients and external authorities to resolve issues.
  • Use sound judgement and a solution-focused approach to balance regulatory requirements with commercial priorities.

Apply if you:

  • Have 3+ years of team leadership experience in compliance, compliance support to lawyers, or similar work
  • Have 4–5 years’ hands-on experience in an operational regulatory compliance role
  • Communicate clearly in fluent English
  • Hold an LLB or equivalent, graduate in other relevant field, or strong in-house law firm experience
  • Have strong Excel skills
  • Can manage competing priorities within tight timeframes
  • Bring practical judgement, problem-solving ability and a collaborative approach across cultures
