Job Description:

The Opportunity:

As SCM External Regulatory Compliance Data & Project Senior Specialist, you will help shape how Hitachi Energy manages regulatory compliance data, supplier-facing workflows, and digital tools across global Supply Chain Management.

You will be part of the SCM External Regulatory Compliance Team, which builds global processes and tools to support compliance, improve data quality, and simplify how we respond to fast-evolving regulations.

In this role, you will support high-impact regulations such as CBAM, EUDR, CRMA, EU Battery Regulation, PPWR, and other ESG-related supply chain requirements. Your work will help turn complex regulatory requirements into reliable data, practical workflows, supplier processes, and scalable digital solutions.

A key focus will be supporting and driving the implementation of the new CBAM application, including user testing, business walkthroughs, data validation, training input, go-live readiness, hypercare, and future improvements. You will also support the integration of GTS data into the CBAM app, helping reduce manual effort and improve the quality and traceability of trade data.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Consolidate, validate, and maintain regulatory compliance data required for CBAM, EUDR, and other SCM regulatory reporting processes.

  • Analyze import, supplier, product, material, emissions, customs, and country-of-origin data to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and reporting risks.

  • Support recurring and ad hoc regulatory reporting by ensuring data is complete, traceable, and available before submission deadlines.

  • Maintain structured records, audit evidence, reporting assumptions, and validation outputs to support defensible compliance.

  • Help harmonize recurring data requirements across regulations to reduce duplication and strengthen future regulatory readiness.

  • Lead and support the business implementation of the new CBAM application, including UAT, walkthroughs, test scenario coordination, data validation, training input, go-live preparation, and hypercare.

  • Support the integration of GTS data into the CBAM app to improve direct collection and validation of trade data from the Global Trade System.

  • Translate business needs into clear tool requirements, test cases, dashboards, data views, and workflow improvements.

  • Track, prioritize, and follow up on application defects, data upload errors, supplier survey issues, calculation/reporting logic gaps, and user feedback.

  • Support handover activities with IT and application support teams, ensuring documentation, technical design outputs, issue logs, and operating procedures are complete.

  • Drive continuous improvement of CBAM app functionality, including supplier survey tracking, upload templates, reporting views, financial impact views, verification workflows, and audit trail requirements.

  • Design and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and analytics tools for regulatory compliance.

  • Support Celonis-based compliance applications and reporting solutions.

  • Monitor data quality, process performance, supplier engagement, and compliance risks.

  • Enable data-driven decision-making across Regulatory Compliance and Business Units.

  • Act as project coordinator or workstream lead for regulatory data and digital compliance initiatives.

  • Ensure clear actions, owners, timelines, risks, decisions, and escalation paths.

  • Plan and facilitate project meetings, implementation checkpoints, status reviews, SteCo inputs, training readiness sessions, and stakeholder updates.

  • Coordinate across SCM Regulatory Compliance, IT, Data Governance, Trade Compliance, Business Units, CTCOs, Finance, Sustainability, Legal & Integrity, suppliers, and third-party vendors.

  • Manage project risks and blockers, especially where data quality, supplier access, tool functionality, vendor responsiveness, or regulatory timelines may impact delivery.

  • Support data automation initiatives by coordinating subject-matter experts, validating data across systems, and translating technical findings into business actions.

  • Manage day-to-day coordination with external technology partners supporting regulatory compliance applications.

  • Follow up on open vendor actions, missing documentation, UAT tasks, root-cause analysis, deployment updates, and issue resolution.

  • Ensure vendors provide timely, transparent, and actionable responses on application defects, workflow gaps, data model issues, and functional changes.

  • Escalate vendor performance issues where delays or unresolved defects may create compliance, supplier engagement, audit, or reporting risk.

  • Support vendor governance by maintaining issue logs, decision records, action trackers, and clear communication between Hitachi Energy, Celonis, Ventum, and internal stakeholders.

  • Support supplier-facing data collection activities, including contact verification, survey access, authentication troubleshooting, response tracking, and data correction.

  • Coordinate with Business Units and supplier-facing teams to ensure suppliers receive the right information, guidance, and follow-up.

  • Help prepare supplier training materials, screenshots, instructions, FAQs, and communication inputs for CBAM and other regulatory data processes.

  • Track supplier response progress and identify bottlenecks affecting data completeness or compliance readiness.

  • Support continuous improvement of supplier data collection workflows to reduce manual follow-up and improve user experience.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Living Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Required Background:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, Business Analytics, Data Management, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Should have 5- 10 years of experience.

  • Experience in supply chain, regulatory compliance, data analytics, sustainability reporting, trade compliance, procurement, business transformation, digital tools, or project delivery.

  • Experience with S/4HANA, SAP GTS, S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, Celonis, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or comparable workflow/reporting tools.

  • Proven ability to work with complex data sets, validation templates, dashboards, ERP extracts, supplier data, compliance documentation, or reporting workflows.

  • Project management experience, ideally including UAT coordination, issue tracking, stakeholder alignment, project planning, status reporting, risk management, and cross-functional delivery.

  • Experience coordinating with external vendors, implementation partners, software providers, or third-party consultants.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data issues into clear business impact, risks, and actions.

  • Understanding of CBAM, EUDR, ESG regulations, trade compliance, sustainability reporting, regulatory data governance, or supplier due diligence.

  • Experience supporting app implementation, business testing, digital transformation, automation, or process improvement initiatives.
