Role summary:
The Senior Analyst, Claims Litigation, manages complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims, focusing on those involving litigation or potential litigation. This role involves reviewing claim reports, coordinating with internal and external legal partners, and overseeing litigation strategies to ensure timely and effective resolution. The position requires adjudicating claims within authority limits, negotiating settlements, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The analyst also mentors colleagues, supports special projects, and contributes expert guidance to improve claims handling processes while fostering strong partnerships across the organization.

The Workers’ Compensation Claims Management team is committed to delivering consistent, accountable, and high-quality claims handling. Utilizing data analytics and industry best practices, the team identifies trends, mitigates risks, and enhances service delivery. Focused on continuous improvement, members collaborate across functions to implement process enhancements and ensure compliance. The team maintains rigorous quality assurance standards and supports professional development. Playing a vital role in claims resolution, risk management, and claims processing, this team contributes significantly to achieving operational goals and upholding the company’s commitment to excellence.
What you'll do:
  • Review and analyze initial claim reports to determine compensability and identify potential fraud indicators.
  • Manage complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims, focusing on litigation and high-risk cases.
  • Collaborate with leadership and legal counsel to establish claim value, strategy, and resolution paths.
  • Oversee outside counsel to monitor litigation progress and ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare and present claims in reviews to refine strategy and secure settlement authority.
  • Authorize payments and coordinate medical treatments in compliance with regulations.
  • Negotiate claim settlements and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Mentor associates on claims handling and litigation processes.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience in litigation management and claims resolution within workers’ compensation or general liability contexts.
  • Proven ability to review and analyze claim reports, identify compensability, and escalate potential fraud indicators appropriately.
  • Strong negotiation skills to resolve claims directly with associates, customers, or legal representatives.
  • Proficiency in managing outside counsel and collaborating with internal legal teams to align on strategy and settlement.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, jurisdictional statutes, and claims processing best practices.
  • Ability to mentor and train associates on complex claims and litigation procedures.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, compliance, and accurate documentation.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in claims handling.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in claims handling, including experience with complex or litigated workers’ compensation or general liability claims.
Current or prior (within last 3 years) Property & Casualty Adjuster License.
