Job Description

You as a Senior Tax Specialist, will focuses on managing end-to-end VAT/GST and indirect tax compliance—preparing, reviewing, and filing returns, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate reconciliations and documentation across multiple jurisdictions. The position requires monitoring regulatory changes, supporting audits and tax authority inquiries, and collaborating with intfocus ernal stakeholders and external advisors, while also driving process improvements through automation and AI adoption. Ideal candidates are finance, accounting, or economics graduates (including fresh graduates) with strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and excellent English communication. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to tax technology, ERP, and cross-functional projects like M&A and entity restructuring.

About the Role:

  • Prepare, review, and submit VAT/GST returns, sales and use tax returns, and other indirect tax filings in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely payment of VAT/GST liabilities and monitor tax deadlines to avoid penalties and interest charges.
  • Prepare and review supporting documentation, reconciliations, and tax calculations related to indirect tax reporting.
  • Analyze accounting and transactional data to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax filings.
  • Monitor changes in VAT/GST legislation and assess their impact on the company’s compliance processes.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and service providers responsible for local compliance activities.
  • Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders, including Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Legal, and Business teams.
  • Support VAT/GST audits, tax authority inquiries, and inspections by preparing documentation and responding to information requests.
  • Maintain tax registrations and support VAT/GST registration and deregistration processes across various countries.
  • Perform indirect tax account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end tax-related activities.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in implementation of tax technology solutions, ERP enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior team members and support knowledge-sharing initiatives within the tax team.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects related to mergers, acquisitions, legal entity restructurings, and new business activities from an indirect tax compliance perspective.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation within VAT/GST compliance processes, reporting, controls, and data analysis. Drive the adoption of AI-based solutions to improve process efficiency, strengthen compliance monitoring, enhance data quality, reduce manual effort, and support continuous process improvement.

About You:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Recent graduates with a finance, accounting, or economics background are welcome.
  • Experience in indirect tax compliance, VAT, GST, accounting, or finance operations would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken, including professional business communication and formal correspondence.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, organized, and continuous improvement-oriented mindset.
  • Interest in process automation, digital transformation, and AI solutions in finance and tax functions.
