The Position

We are offering an exciting legal role that will help us to shape the future for patients across the globe. We focus on making a difference with cutting-edge technologies in research, development and commercialization of innovative therapeutic products. To that end, we are looking for an experienced transactional attorney. You have a global mindset and are capable of communicating at ease across cultures. You will be part of our global Legal Business Development & Corporate team, supporting Roche’s business development transactions (licensing, mergers and acquisitions, venture investments). You are curious and have an outstanding ability to build and maintain relationships both locally and globally. 

You will be based at Roche headquarters in Basel and work with a team of outstanding local and global legal experts. 

The Opportunity

  • Lead, structure, and negotiate complex global licensing transactions and support a growing portfolio of alliances

  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to key business partners, assessing and managing legal risks appropriately and  pragmatically 

  • Collaborate closely within a global team of legal experts in Switzerland, the USA, and China.

  • Design and deliver targeted legal training programs to support evolving business needs and strategy.

  • Drive cross-functional solutions while operating seamlessly across global time zones.


 

Who You Are

  • A qualified attorney with a Swiss bar admission (or foreign equivalent) and at least 5 years of post-bar experience, ideally with training or practice in an English-speaking country.

  • Experienced in licensing and corporate law, IP/technology law within an in-house or specialized law firm setting.

  • A skilled negotiator capable of translating complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for diverse stakeholders.

  • A collaborative relationship-builder with a strong affinity for tech/AI and a curiosity to learn.

  • An open-minded communicator fluent in English who thrives in global, multicultural team settings.
