The Senior Litigation Manager will play a key role in improving claims outcomes, reducing expenses, and strengthening processes across a nationwide organization.
You will oversee high-impact litigation initiatives, mentor claims professionals, and collaborate with teams across legal, product, analytics, engineering, and risk functions.
The position combines leadership, data-driven decision-making, vendor management, and deep claims expertise to drive measurable business results.

Accountabilities:

    The Senior Litigation Manager will lead strategic litigation initiatives, improve claims performance, and support the broader claims organization through operational leadership, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.

    • Manage complex and litigated claim files by providing strategic guidance, supporting strong outcomes, and advising claims leaders on high-severity matters.
    • Lead and mentor claims professionals, including managers and individual contributors, while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Oversee operational initiatives across a highly matrixed organization, partnering with internal teams to align litigation strategies with business objectives.
    • Collaborate with Product, Legal, Actuarial, Engineering, and Information Systems teams to improve litigation processes and maximize the value of claims data.
    • Partner with analytics and data science teams to develop insights, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making across claims operations.
    • Manage relationships with external legal service providers, ensuring quality performance, cost efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.
    • Support compliance, quality assurance, and risk management initiatives, including litigation file audits, regulatory requirements, and third-party reviews.
    • Coordinate communication regarding complex claims with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
    • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce risks, and enhance the overall claims experience through innovation and process optimization.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced claims and litigation leader with strong expertise in commercial insurance, complex claims management, and team leadership. They should have the ability to analyze challenges, influence stakeholders, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • 10+ years of experience in claims operations, including 5+ years managing and leading teams.
      • Deep expertise in Commercial General Liability claims, policy interpretation, and complex claim resolution.
      • Experience handling construction defect matters, large-loss property damage claims, and complex bodily injury claims.
      • Strong understanding of litigation strategy, claims processes, and insurance industry practices.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
      • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze insights, identify patterns, and improve business outcomes.
      • Proven ability to solve complex business challenges and implement effective solutions.
      • Experience leading distributed teams in remote or hybrid environments preferred.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong professional relationships.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
