The Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Contracts within the Global PATRIOT® program area. We are looking for an experienced candidate to provide oversight of a multinational portfolio. The portfolio is predominately comprised of Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) for the production, integration, technical assistance, and sustainment. In this role, you will lead the front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract management, and significant customer activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment of contract requirements in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
The Senior Manager, Contracts will need to utilize regular application of strong business acumen and subject matter expertise to understand program performance requirements, develop contractual and negotiation strategy, provide guidance, and influence results in support of program and financial objectives. Additionally, this role is required to work closely with Program Management leadership, the Office of General Counsel, and cross-functional peers in support of program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, risk management activities, and all other contractual related matters affecting the portfolio. The successful candidate will work with both internal and external customers to ensure successful program performance and influence outcomes to achieve desired results.
The successful candidate should have a track record of success in DCS contracting, international financing principles, familiarity with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and will be expected to have the prerequisite skills and experience to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while having ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with complex customers.
What You Will Do
25% international travel to Europe
Implement strategies to improve acquisition timelines and customer pace of contractual actions
Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes. Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards
Continuously improve the overall quality, capability, and bench strength of the contract's organization
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Experience in DCS and FMS contracting
Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
Experience with proposal development and negotiations
Qualifications We Prefer
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers Direct experience in the development of proposals, as well as intensive fact-finding and negotiations
Experience working contracts with international partners
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust
Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential
Cross-functional experience in Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, Business Development, or Program Management

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
