The role leads the IM R&D CPC agenda, connects global and regional stakeholders, strengthens risk intelligence and governance, and enables timely, consistent, and insight-driven compliance support.

Serving as a trusted strategic partner to the HCC Global Lead, IM R&D & Innovation, this individual will help orchestrate leadership priorities, operating rhythms, executive reporting, and cross-functional follow-through. The role will also perform HCC Officer responsibilities for selected North America IM R&D areas, based on evolving business need. The successful candidate will combine enterprise perspective, sound compliance judgment, operational excellence, analytical capability, and strong stakeholder leadership.

You will be responsible for:

Global CPC Leadership and Strategy Execution

  • Lead the global IM R&D CPC operating model, establishing clear priorities, governance, accountabilities, and execution plans aligned with enterprise, sector, HCC leadership, and R&D strategic direction.
  • Translate strategic priorities into coordinated plans, milestones, and deliverables across global and regional HCC teams, including partnership with CPC and regional champions in North America, Latin America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.
  • Act as the central IM R&D HCC point of contact for enterprise strategy execution and cross-CPC coordination, ensuring clarity, consistency, and timely follow-through.
  • Partner closely with the HCC Global Lead to prepare and manage leadership operating rhythms, including leadership team meetings, broader team meetings, town halls, business reviews, risk reviews, and other strategic forums.
  • Develop executive-ready agendas, briefing materials, decision documents, dashboards, and communications that elevate insights, clarify trade-offs, and support effective leadership decisions.
  • Drive disciplined follow-up on decisions, commitments, dependencies, and actions, proactively identifying barriers and escalating material risks or decisions when appropriate.
  • Promote simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement across IM R&D HCC processes, tools, and ways of working.

Risk Intelligence, Assessment, and Performance Management

  • Lead the global IM R&D risk assessment and performance management process, including data integrity, key performance indicators, mitigation tracking, and preparation for quarterly and biannual risk reviews.
  • Coordinate timely, accurate, and complete inputs across risk-management systems and reporting processes, and ensure appropriate governance of risk records, mitigation plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Integrate monitoring, assessment, and performance data to identify patterns, emerging risks, execution gaps, and opportunities for risk-based action.
  • Prepare consolidated analyses and executive-level narratives for HCC and business leadership, connecting compliance insights to business context and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Compliance Officers, subject-matter experts, Legal, Internal Audit, Privacy, Finance, Procurement, and other relevant functions to support appropriate evaluation, escalation, mitigation, and closure of identified matters.
  • Maintain strong documentation, quality, governance, and audit-readiness across CPC-owned processes.

North America HCC Officer Responsibilities

  • Provide HCC Officer support for designated North America IM R&D organizations or activities, based on business need and in coordination with the broader North America HCC support model.
  • Serve as a proactive, solutions-oriented compliance partner to assigned business stakeholders, enabling responsible innovation and informed risk-taking while maintaining alignment with applicable policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Advise on business initiatives, healthcare professional and healthcare organization interactions, scientific and external engagement, third-party activity, and other relevant IM R&D matters within the assigned scope.
  • Lead or coordinate North America execution of applicable enterprise or sector compliance plans, risk assessments, monitoring, mitigation actions, and management reporting.
  • Oversee and support compliance monitoring activities relevant to the assigned portfolio, including review of outputs, documentation of findings or deviations, trend identification, escalation, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Support third-party due diligence, risk review, and approval processes for relevant R&D, external innovation, and business-development activities, as assigned.
  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders and functional partners, communicating requirements and risk considerations clearly, pragmatically, and constructively.

Leadership, Culture, and Capability Building

  • Lead through influence across a global, matrixed organization and create alignment among stakeholders with different priorities, geographies, and areas of expertise.
  • Foster a culture of ethics, accountability, inclusion, collaboration, smart risk-taking, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and develop colleagues contributing to CPC priorities, including project teams and regional champions, and strengthen shared capability in risk assessment, monitoring, data quality, and executive communication.
  • Represent IM R&D HCC in relevant global and regional forums and build strong networks across HCC, IM R&D, OCMO, external innovation, and enabling functions.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and demonstrate sound judgment, courage, and integrity in complex situations.

Qualifications/Requirements:
