Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Technology, Data, Privacy, and Third-Party Risk Legal Services at Aetna Center of Excellence (COE) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing privacy incident response, operations and technology solutions that protect sensitive data across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection laws (e.g., NY DFS, HIPAA, State laws), regulations, and policies to ensure compliance. The Senior Manager will conduct privacy incident investigations, help oversee privacy incident response, and draft privacy policies and documentation related to privacy incidents, remediation and investigations. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement effective privacy programs, respond to data incidents and breaches, and maintain compliance with privacy, security, and data governance standards.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Privacy, healthcare, data governance, risk management, compliance, or a related field.
5+ years of expertise in healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other Privacy regulations, CMS requirements, and state privacy laws.
Proven track record in investigating and handling privacy incident response, from start to finish
Experience with privacy policies and working with stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies, applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
Strong understanding of data protection principles and best practices in privacy and security.
Experience in managing privacy incident investigations, HIPAA risk assessments, and State law breach analysis.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive privacy initiatives and respond to data breaches.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex privacy concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of privacy, security, and data governance standards applicable to Aetna and its various business segments, with the ability to analyze and apply these standards effectively.
Extensive experience addressing privacy issues and a comprehensive understanding of U.S. privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, NY DFS, and state privacy breach laws.
2+ year of experience managing a team, with a focus on mentoring and developing team members in privacy and compliance practices.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to create detailed reports and presentations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
Relevant privacy certifications such as CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, or other recognized privacy-related credentials will be considered
Education
Bachelor’s Degree; equivalent years of related professional work experience may substitute.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
