Position Summary:

Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced and highly organized Litigation Discovery Manager to support complex, high-exposure litigation matters within a global aerospace and defense environment. This role will perform a variety of law-related tasks under the direction of the organization’s attorneys, and play a critical function in case investigation, managing discovery, coordinating document preservation and production, maintaining litigation files, and supporting outside counsel across a portfolio that includes product liability, commercial claims, and supplier disputes.

In addition to core discovery management responsibilities, this role will be key to establishing and maintaining process to enhance automation, including document management, retention, workflows, and litigation dashboarding capabilities. This position requires a professional with strong project management skills, autonomy and experience operating in a highly regulated industry.

This is a role with significant autonomy and frequent cross-functional interaction across functions and business units.

What You Will Do:

  • Litigation & Discovery Management
  • Manage subpoena responses.
  • Manage and coordinate identification of documents for preservation, custodial interviews, collection, processing, review, and production.
  • Serve as the internal liaison for outside counsel on document collection, custodial interviews, and fact investigation.
  • Serve as liaison to corporate forensic team in coordinating document preservation, document collection, engagement of third party e-discovery platforms and vendors.
  • Oversee document review workflows using e-discovery platforms; ensure defensibility, consistency, and cost control.
  • Digital Archives & Knowledge Management
  • Create and Manage digital document repositories and litigation archives.
  • Develop and implement standardized file management protocols.
  • Support the development of institutional knowledge systems for past and ongoing litigation matters.
  • Technology & Process Improvement
  • Create and support an automated settlement approval workflow
  • Partner with Digital Technology teams to improve automation, workflow efficiencies, and system integrations.
  • Develop and maintain litigation dashboards and reporting metrics for leadership visibility.
  • Support initiatives to streamline litigation support processes and reduce risk and cost.
  • Promote adoption of technology-driven best practices within the team.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification
  • Experience within the aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Exposure to data analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) and litigation reporting dashboards.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting complex litigation, preferably in-house or at a major law firm.
  • Demonstrated experience managing discovery in large-scale product liability and commercial disputes.
  • Strong working knowledge of e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity or comparable systems).
  • Experience coordinating document preservation and legal hold processes.
  • Proficiency with document management systems and digital file repositories.
  • Experience supporting regulatory investigations or government-related matters.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
