Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Policy & Governance based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise governance initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment.
You will oversee policy frameworks, governance processes, and regulatory documentation that support responsible business growth.
The position combines strategic oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence to strengthen risk management practices.
You will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure policies remain effective, accurate, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
This is a high-impact role for a governance professional who enjoys building scalable processes and improving organizational readiness.

Accountabilities:

    The Senior Manager, Policy & Governance will own the development and execution of enterprise policy governance practices while ensuring strong regulatory alignment and operational effectiveness. This role will partner across risk, compliance, legal, and business teams to maintain governance standards that enable sustainable growth.

    • Lead and manage the enterprise policy governance program, ensuring policies remain accurate, accessible, current, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee the complete policy lifecycle, including creation, review cycles, approvals, exceptions, version management, and ongoing governance processes.
    • Collaborate with policy owners, business leaders, risk teams, compliance professionals, and legal partners to drive efficient policy execution.
    • Manage governance activities supporting executive committees and board-level meetings, including documentation, materials preparation, decision tracking, and governance records.
    • Ensure governance reporting and documentation are complete, accurate, audit-ready, and prepared for regulatory reviews, internal audits, and examinations.
    • Develop and continuously improve governance processes that support scalability, operational efficiency, and effective risk management.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a small policy and governance team while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
    • Support the implementation and optimization of governance, risk, and compliance tools and platforms.
    • Apply innovative approaches, including responsible use of AI-enabled tools, to improve documentation quality, consistency, and efficiency.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced governance, risk, compliance, or policy professional with a strong understanding of regulated financial environments. They should have demonstrated experience managing enterprise frameworks, influencing stakeholders, and delivering high-quality regulatory documentation.

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
      • 7+ years of experience in policy management, enterprise risk management, governance, or compliance within a regulated bank, financial institution, or similar environment.
      • Proven experience managing or supporting an enterprise policy governance framework, including policy lifecycle administration.
      • Experience supporting board meetings, risk committees, executive governance processes, or similar senior-level activities.
      • Strong ability to create accurate, executive-facing, and regulator-facing documentation and reports.
      • Knowledge of regulatory expectations, examination processes, and governance standards, particularly within financial services.
      • Experience working with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms is preferred.
      • Background in enterprise risk management, internal audit, or compliance functions is a plus.
      • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across teams.
      • Ability to use generative AI tools responsibly to enhance drafting, summarization, and documentation processes while applying sound professional judgment.
