Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Sales Manager - Governance, Risk & Compliance - Public Sector based in United States.

This remote leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth through a high-performing team selling complex Governance, Risk & Compliance solutions to public sector organizations.
You will lead Solution Sales Executives, helping them identify strategic opportunities, strengthen pipelines, and successfully navigate complex sales cycles.
The position combines people leadership, sales strategy, forecasting, coaching, and executive-level customer engagement.
You will use data and market insight to prioritize territories, improve deal quality, and align sales execution with customer needs and business objectives.
Strong collaboration across internal teams and relationships with customers, prospects, and partners will be essential to achieving go-to-market success.
The role offers significant influence over team performance, sales strategy, and customer outcomes within a technology-focused environment.

Accountabilities:

    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Solution Sales Executives through personalized coaching plans, regular performance discussions, mentorship, and ongoing feedback focused on professional growth and sales excellence.
    • Foster a high-performance culture built around accountability, collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and a growth mindset.
    • Recruit and retain top sales talent while addressing performance and disciplinary matters fairly and effectively.
    • Establish account and territory priorities, directing sellers toward the opportunities and activities with the greatest potential for revenue growth.
    • Develop, maintain, and continuously refine accurate sales forecasts, using performance data and pipeline trends to adjust sales strategies and plans.
    • Monitor seller outreach, pipeline development, deal quality, and sales execution to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure consistent follow-through.
    • Develop sales strategies and tactics that align customer needs with organizational growth objectives and the broader go-to-market strategy.
    • Provide deal support and strategic guidance across large enterprise and mid-market opportunities, helping sellers navigate complex sales cycles and negotiate effectively while protecting deal value.
    • Build strong relationships with internal leadership and peer teams to secure the resources, expertise, and cross-functional support required for sales success.
    • Develop relationships with public sector customers, prospects, and partners to strengthen market presence and support strategic growth.
    • Encourage collaboration across functions and create an environment where sales professionals have the resources and support needed to succeed.
    • Promote open communication and actively seek feedback, ensuring team members feel heard, supported, and empowered to contribute.
    • Represent the sales organization with confidence and executive presence in customer and internal leadership interactions.
    • Requirements:

      • Bring 8+ years of experience in enterprise technology, complex solution sales, or a closely related field, along with at least 3 years of progressive sales management experience, preferably within software or technology organizations.
      • Hold an undergraduate degree or possess an equivalent combination of education, knowledge, and relevant professional experience.
      • Have demonstrated experience selling to Public Sector customers, particularly SLED and/or Federal accounts.
      • Bring experience selling Governance, Risk & Compliance solutions, with a strong understanding of the challenges and requirements associated with complex GRC environments.
      • Understand the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model and the dynamics of enterprise technology sales.
      • Demonstrate a proven record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas while selling complex technology or software solutions.
      • Be experienced in supporting sellers through complex enterprise and mid-market sales cycles, including opportunity strategy, deal execution, pricing, and negotiation.
      • Demonstrate the ability to manage, coach, motivate, and develop a diverse team of sales professionals with different strengths, experience levels, and selling approaches.
      • Possess exceptional communication skills, strong business acumen, and the executive presence required to engage confidently with senior-level stakeholders.
      • Understand how to identify and influence different stakeholders throughout the buying process, distinguishing between economic buyers, influencers, and other decision-makers.
      • Be capable of helping your team manage multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously while maintaining focus on pipeline quality, customer value, and revenue outcomes.
      • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills, particularly the ability to manage pricing discussions while protecting the value of the solution.
      • Be highly data-driven, organized, accountable, and comfortable using performance insights to make strategic decisions.
      • Be willing to travel up to 30% for customer meetings, events, and other business activities.
      • Have reliable internet access suitable for full-time remote work.
