Senior Technical Project Manager (Compliance & Certifications)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager (Compliance & Certifications) based in the United States.

This role is responsible for driving technical compliance, security, and certification initiatives across a complex software environment. You will own the planning, coordination, tracking, and execution of major audit and accreditation programs, including SOC 2 and MRC requirements. The position sits at the intersection of technical project management, compliance governance, engineering, IT, and business operations. You will translate complex compliance requirements into actionable technical work while keeping teams aligned with structured deadlines. The role also involves direct coordination with external auditors and assessors, as well as continuous evidence and remediation management. It is well suited to an experienced project leader who can combine rigorous PMO discipline with the flexibility required to operate within Agile engineering teams.

 

Accountabilities:

• Own the planning, tracking, governance, and reporting of compliance, security, and certification projects in accordance with established PMO standards and methodologies.
• Maintain project plans, schedules, resource planning, documentation, dashboards, and centralized trackers using tools such as Asana or Jira.
• Establish phase-gate plans and critical paths for audit readiness, pre-assessments, evidence lock-down, formal evaluations, and remediation activities.
• Translate complex compliance controls and technical requirements into actionable specifications, user stories, development tasks, and measurable milestones.
• Coordinate with Security, TechOps, Data, Engineering, Product, and business teams to integrate compliance activities and vulnerability remediation into Agile development cycles.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison for external auditors and assessors, coordinating meetings, requests, documentation, evidence submissions, and follow-ups.
• Manage the continuous collection, organization, validation, and submission of technical evidence such as system configurations, access records, architectural documentation, and monitoring information.
• Track compliance gaps, audit findings, risks, dependencies, and remediation activities, escalating issues when milestones or audit readiness are at risk.
• Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for annual MRC accreditation activities, including pre-assessment, audit execution, ongoing reviews, and change governance.
• Coordinate technical and operational requirements related to advertising technology, measurement methodologies, data pipelines, filtration logic, business partner qualification, client onboarding, disclosures, and discrepancy management.
• Support SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 audit readiness by coordinating control activities, system monitoring, access reviews, infrastructure documentation, and evidence collection.
• Help manage compliance automation platforms such as Vanta, Drata, or similar tools to support continuous control verification and evidence tracking.
• Maintain methodology disclosures and change documentation, including structured processes for communicating changes to accredited elements and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide consistent project health updates covering milestones, risks, blockers, dependencies, and overall audit readiness.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, or similar role within SaaS, Adtech, software engineering, or another technical environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing structured projects and reporting project health, timelines, risks, and status through established PMO frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage fixed-deadline compliance and certification programs using milestone-driven or waterfall approaches while integrating execution into Agile or sprint-based engineering environments.
• Practical experience managing SOC 2 audits, MRC accreditation, or comparable technical compliance, governance, evidence-gathering, or certification initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency with project planning and execution platforms such as Asana or Jira.
• Strong technical literacy and the ability to work effectively with Engineering, IT, Security, TechOps, and Data teams.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts such as AWS or GCP, database schemas, and identity and access management frameworks.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex dependencies, competing priorities, deadlines, risks, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and compliance concepts into clear actions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Preferred experience in Adtech, including ad-serving technologies, measurement methodologies, data pipelines, and industry measurement standards.
• Preferred project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, or PMI-ACP, or introductory security and compliance certifications.
• Experience with compliance automation platforms such as Drata, Vanta, Secureframe, or similar solutions is an advantage.
