This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Project Manager (Cloud and Compliance) based in United States.
This role leads complex technical engagements spanning cloud design, build, managed operations, cybersecurity, and compliance. You’ll own projects across the full delivery lifecycle, balancing scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, dependencies, risks, and client expectations. Working closely with architects, engineers, operations, sales, quality, and leadership teams, you’ll help deliver secure and effective technical solutions. You’ll serve as a trusted client partner, translating technical requirements and compliance considerations into actionable delivery plans. The position offers significant exposure to cloud platforms, security frameworks, automation, and modern delivery methodologies. It is well suited to an experienced project leader who thrives in complex consulting environments and enjoys solving challenging technical and customer problems.
Accountabilities:
- Lead complex cloud, cybersecurity, and technical delivery projects from initiation through completion, maintaining accountability for scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, dependencies, risks, and project margins.
- Manage assigned cloud design/build and managed operations engagements independently while collaborating closely with technical and operational teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and engagement teams, establishing productive relationships across multiple levels of client organizations, including occasional C-suite stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and adjust project schedules and work plans to reflect changing client needs, delivery priorities, dependencies, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate resources and responsibilities across technical and operational workstreams to ensure effective execution.
- Lead project status meetings covering schedules, dependencies, technical requirements, action items, assignments, risks, issues, and changes.
- Proactively identify project, client, technical, and dependency risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate significant concerns to the appropriate leadership and resources.
- Implement and manage change control processes when project requirements, scope, priorities, or technical conditions evolve.
- Monitor delivery performance, utilization, forecasting, and other project metrics in partnership with delivery leadership.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, sales, quality management, operations, and leadership teams to optimize technical delivery and customer outcomes.
- Apply cybersecurity principles and industry best practices when balancing technical solutions against applicable compliance frameworks and client requirements.
- Advise clients on relevant industry developments, security practices, technology trends, and compliance considerations.
- Leverage automation, workflow technologies, and AI-enabled tools to improve project visibility, operational efficiency, and delivery processes.
- Develop and update training materials, project artifacts, procedures, and best practices to promote consistent delivery execution.
- Act as a subject matter expert in technical project delivery across cloud design/build and managed operations engagements.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to help team members strengthen their technical project management and consulting capabilities.
- 6+ years of technical project or program management experience.
- 5+ years of experience working directly with external clients in consulting, professional services, technology delivery, or a similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong expertise in risk management, issue escalation, dependency management, stakeholder communication, and executive-level reporting.
- Experience managing complex delivery schedules, multiple workstreams, technical dependencies, and competing priorities independently.
- Understanding of project management best practices and experience with Hybrid, Agile, iterative, or similar delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, CMMC, SOC, ISO, HIPAA, HITRUST, and PCI.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms and their capabilities and services.
- Understanding of security operations and related disciplines, including SecOps, SOC/NOC, vulnerability management, incident response, disaster recovery, and continuous monitoring.
- Working knowledge of change management processes and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
- Experience using technology automation, workflow platforms, or AI-enabled approaches to improve processes is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to client contractual requirements.
- Industry certifications such as PMP, CAPM, CSM, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSK, cloud architecture certifications, GIAC Public Cloud Security, CompTIA Security+, or CompTIA Cloud+ are advantageous.
- Additional experience with cloud networking technologies, including Palo Alto, Cisco ASAv, VPC peering, or Transit Gateway, is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools such as Visio, Jira, Smartsheet, Tableau, or MS Project is beneficial.
- Knowledge of encryption technologies such as TLS/SSL and PKI, as well as infrastructure-as-code and scripting technologies including Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell, or Bash, is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and platforms is advantageous.
- Annual salary range of $89,000–$149,000, with actual compensation determined by factors including education, experience, geographic location, training, licensure, and certifications.
