Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

DePuy Synthes are looking for a Trade Compliance & Transportation Lead - Orthopaedics:

The Trade Compliance & Transportation Lead is responsible for leading transportation operations and trade compliance activities to ensure the compliant, efficient, and cost-effective movement of products throughout the supply chain. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across customs compliance, import/export operations, transportation management, broker governance, logistics performance, and regulatory compliance.

The responsibilities and the impact YOU will have: 

Transportation Operations

  • Lead transportation operations across manufacturing sites, distribution centres, suppliers, and customer delivery networks.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and Control Tower partners.
  • Oversee transportation service performance, delivery reliability, freight costs, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive transportation continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, quality, cost, and compliance.
  • Establish transportation governance, KPI reporting, supplier performance reviews, and escalation processes.
  • Ensure transportation activities comply with quality, regulatory, and GDP requirements.
  • Support transportation planning and execution to maintain uninterrupted product flow.

Trade Compliance

  • Lead customs and trade compliance activities across the region.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, sanctions, tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and record-keeping obligations.
  • Oversee customs broker performance and governance programmes.
  • Manage customs authorisations, licences, registrations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, SOPs, and internal controls.
  • Support customs audits, regulatory enquiries, and authority inspections.
  • Identify trade compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive customs process improvements and duty optimisation opportunities.

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have the following essential requirements:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or related discipline.
  • Significant experience in Transportation, Customs, Trade Compliance, or Supply Chain Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export operations, transportation management, and logistics provider governance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Professional customs, trade, logistics, or supply chain certifications desirable.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€52,400.00 - €82,915.00

 

 

Benefits:

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
